Questions And Answers About Laser Hair Removal
How does laser hair removal work?
Lasers work amazingly well to remove unwanted hair all over the body. Used properly, it is a non-invasive method that disables the hair structure without damaging the surrounding skin. Laser hair removal works by applying controlled pulses of energy into the hair follicles beneath the skin. This pulse destroys the hair follicle without damaging the skin around it.
Is laser hair removal suitable for everyone?
We use only the latest technology Cynosure® systems, which are approved for use on all skin types. This allows us to treat more types of people. We can also control the pulse width and flounce to effectively treat a range of hair thicknesses, including difficult-to-treat finer hairs.
Is laser hair removal permanent?
No laser has yet received FDA approval to claim “permanent hair removal.” You should be careful of any clinic that claims that their laser can do otherwise. What lasers do offer is permanent hair reduction—85% or greater.
Will the laser hurt?
Each pulse lasts only a fraction of a second and produces a slight pinching sensation. What you feel during laser hair removal depends on your skin’s sensitivity. Some areas of the body are more sensitive than others.
Are there any side effects to laser hair removal?
Most people will experience no side effects. You can expect, however, for the skin in the treated area to redden slightly for a short time, not unlike a mild sunburn.
How many laser hair removal treatments will I need?
The number of treatments varies depending on the patient, but we recommend five or six treatments to get the best possible results.
